Miniglück – your children’s shop in Bolzano/Bozen

“Sometimes, it’s the little joys that give you great happiness,” Mama Gerda likes to repeat. In doing so, she reminds us of the important things in life, as well as of our beloved Granny Glück. Hers was a rather special name: in German, Glück means joy, happiness and luck. For Mama Gerda and for us, her daughters Mara and Vera, it is important to keep honouring Granny and her name, as many of our regular customers at GIUS already know. What most people do not know, however, is the story behind Miniglück – our little children’s shop in Bolzano/Bozen. Let us tell you this story, which began 35 years ago…

Mission: making children happy

It all started when Mama Gerda opened her first children’s clothing shop, which she named “Mini Fashion”. Located on the edge of Caldaro/Kaltern, her home town. Her small shop was one of the first of its kind at the time, and quickly became a shopping staple for parents in all South Tyrol area. Many of its first little customers, now fully grown up, still have fond memories of her shop, which proudly served our community for all of two decades. “There was this great ball pool!” they recall. Yes, there was. Because back then, Gerda Gius already knew what it takes to make children’s hearts smile – and their parents’ as well.

A few years after Mini Fashion, another children’s shop was inaugurated in the very heart of Bozen, on the Piazza del Grano/Kornplatz square. With “Clacson”, Mama Gerda was bringing her passion for children’s fashion and toys to South Tyrol’s main town, where she would keep selling a fine selection of high-quality brands for a long, long time.

MINIGLÜCK in Bozen

At the end of 2021, Clacson became Miniglück. This new shop comes with a new name, a new concept and a new philosophy, but with the same love and fondness for beautiful things that our customers so appreciate. The latest of our places bears the same hallmarks of all Gius locations: every single item is carefully chosen. Our selection includes popular, sustainable and recyclable products such as wooden toys, clothing made of organic cotton and much more. Besides well-known international brands, we also feature niche brands and high-quality basics from our in-house Miniglück brand, which are manufactured in northern Italy. Every day, mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers come and visit us with their children and grandchildren – people from near and far and from all walks of life. However, they all have one thing in common: they care about flawless quality and sustainability, and they value things that are special, personal and made with the heart. And this is what Miniglück is all about.
